Concerts @ Quadrangle: Help and Hope for Haiti

Many of us have waImage Sourced from EPA Orlando Barrlatched in horror as the stories of devastation and destruction continue to come out of Haiti, where a massive earthquake has completely rocked the country, bringing it to a literal standstill, with many people unable to connect with families, friends, and loved ones. To say that this destruction is heartbreaking is an understatement, and many of us have already stepped up to help by donating to local organizations or by texting to give to organizations such as the American Red Cross. For those of you who have been searching for a practical way to give, we would like to offer you some further options.

Option 1
We are partnering with local organization See the Need, Meet the Need and Hope for Haiti to airlift supplies to Haitian relief efforts. Hope for Haiti has been given two 757 airplanes and will be packing them full of supplies in the next several days and weeks to transport overseas. To learn more about Hope for Haiti, please feel free to visit their website at www.hopeforhaiti.com. On the site are a list of supplies that they are in desperate need of, and any donation would be appreciated. To make things easy for you, we will be collecting items at the next Concerts @ Quadrangle, THIS FRIDAY, January 22. There will be boxes throughout the gallery and concert space for you to drop off supplies, and we will get them to Hope for Haiti next week. Below are a few recommended items that can be easily purchased at your local grocery store. Of course, if you are in a profession that gives you access to other supplies (i.e. doctor, construction, etc.), feel free to donate those as well.

Neosporin

Hand sanitizer (large bottles)

Iodine salt

Gloves - All Sizes

Triple/Double A batteries

Antacids

Work gloves

Tums

Any children's Medications

Hydrogen Peroxide

Band-Aids (all sizes)

Tylenol

1 Gallon Ziploc bags (lots)

Adult Vitamins

Option 2
Our artists are generously offering to donate a portion of the proceeds from their items sold to Haitian relief efforts. This is a great way to both add to your life while simultaneously changing the life of someone you may never meet. In addition, donation jars will be distributed throughout the room, as well as a portion of all bar tips being donated to relief efforts.

Ultimately, it isn't difficult to change the life of someone- even someone on the other side of the world that you may never meet. Join YnC and these great artists and organizations as we work together to send love, help, and hope to those so desperately in need of it right now.

Be the Change
